Nieuwe Kerk, Delft

Delft, The Netherlands http://oudeennieuwekerkdelft.nl/

“Darker than the Oude kerk”

This church built by the end of 15th century still holds the name Nieuwe Kerk. Not as light and pretty as Oude Kerk, this one is important for the royal burial crypt and tomb of William of Orange, the Dutch Renaissance monument. As most Protestant churches it lacks decoration, details and light. With its massive columns and darker tones inside, it is more attractive from outside, but surely its historical importance puts it on top of Delft attractions.
Note: Buy joint tickets for Old and New church.
